What we know about you.

We are a small crochet studio, not an advertising business. We collect the least we can get away with, we do not sell anything about you to anyone, and you can have it all deleted by sending one email.

Nothing on this site is for sale yet, so we take no payment details at all.

There are only two ways your details reach us:

• Messages — whatever you type into the contact or custom-order form, plus your name and email so we can reply.
• Newsletter — your email address, if you enter it in the footer.

Your wishlist is not sent to us. It is stored in your own browser, under the key "crochetsmile.wishlist.v1", and clearing your browser data deletes it.

To write back to you, and to send you studio updates if you joined the newsletter.

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as the conversation is useful, and then deleted.

Nobody buys it, and nobody rents it. The only third parties involved are the ordinary ones needed to run a website and send an email — our hosting provider and our email provider — and they act on our instructions only.

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site trackers. The wishlist records described above use your browser’s local storage, which never leaves your device and is not readable by anyone else.

We do count page views, using Vercel Analytics. It is cookieless and collects no personal data — it records that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and what kind of device, with no identifier that could be traced back to you or followed across other websites. That is why this site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK or EU, those rights come from the GDPR; if you are in California, from the CCPA. We do not require a form or a reason.

We make bags for children, but this site is not intended for them. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

When orders open, this page will need to describe payment and delivery data too. We will update it before that happens, and the date at the top of the page will change with it.
